Happy Friday! After some very sweet suggestions from you guys, I decided to try something a little different for today’s Fashion Friday- I put together a few outfits that would be perfect for spring/summer. A lot of the items are very versatile and could be worn with many different things, but I thought I’d give this a try, to see what you all thought.

Lately I feel like I’ve been running out of Fashion Friday themes. I’m kind of tired of telling you about the weather (especially since so many of you live in SoCal), and there are only so many color/material/style themes that I can think of.

Cuffed Tee

This tee is on sale at Anthropologie and comes in a few other cute colors. Be warned though- don’t fall in love with a color before checking to see if your size is available-  a couple of the colors and sizes are completely sold out.

Zarine Cuff

My mom was sitting next to me on the couch while I was finding items for today’s post and she pointed this bracelet out to me. That’s one of the reasons why I love having another person giving their input- I end up loving pieces that my mom picks out, but they aren’t the things that I’m automatically drawn to. This bracelet seems like such a classic piece- understated and pretty.

Desta Womens Shoes

Looking at these a second time, I realized how much they look like my black jazz shoes from when I was in theater.

Wow. That was like a serious flashback right there. In case you’re curious, I was Angel #3 in The Best Christmas Pageant Ever (I had one line- I threw my arms wide and said “I’m an angel!”), Sea Creature #23 in The Little Mermaid and the Raccoon in Snow White and the Seven Dwarves. So clearly, I played completely indispensable roles in all of those lofty productions.

You know those days when wearing skinny jeans seems unthinkable? When putting on another belted dress is out of the question? Yeah, me too.

Sometimes, (okay. most of the time), wearing pajamas outside of the house is an extremely tempting proposal. I have yet to go to Wal-Mart in pajamas (that’s where I draw the line), but I have worn many pairs of sweats, leggings and countless big sweaters that really should be considered pj’s. With this in mind, here are a few Fashion Friday items that  look so darn comfy. Thank goodness for clothes that have the comfy-ness of pajamas and are also totally acceptable for wearing to Wal-Mart. Or any other place where there is the smallest chance that you’ll see someone you know. Comfy and cute? That’s a killer combo.

On an unrelated note, below are two articles that I read this past week and absolutely loved.

This post was super interesting and thought provoking- I totally agreed with her point of view and opinions on the term “Food P–n” (see article for explanation on the hyphenation).

This article on the movie Noah was also an excellent read. I haven’t seen the movie, but the writer of the article was right on. Definitely won’t be spending money on that one…

Coffee Addict PJ Set

Alex (my oldest brother) always seems quite concerned with my coffee drinking habits. Anytime he’s home he comments that I’m addicted to caffeine. Honestly, he’s probably not that far off- I love coffee, and that’s just how it is 🙂

Anyway, one evening he was doing dishes and after he washed my travel mug, he squirted liquid soap into the bottom and then put it in the cabinet. The next morning, I poured coffee into the mug and drank the majority of it on the way to the gym. Later in the day, he told me what he had done. Apparently it was too dark that morning and I had missed the presence of the clear dish soap. I was mad and, of course, he thought that it was absolutely hilarious that I had had so much of the coffee and never even noticed the odd flavor. I’m not sure if that was his attempt to stop me from drinking coffee, but it definitely didn’t work 😉
